K-97 is partnering up with Sport Central for the 4th Annual Bike Drive this September!
For over 30 years, Sport Central has donated used sports equipment to kids age 4 – 17. The Sport Central Bike Shop alone provides bikes for nearly 3,000 kids in need every year, along with a helmet for safe riding—and that number continues to grow. These bikes are often the first these deserving kids get in their lives, giving them a sense of freedom and independence.
The goal is to collect 1,000 new and gently used bikes that need minor repairs. All sizes are needed, but the biggest request is for 20″ & 24″ wheel bikes, common for ages 6 – 12. The bikes do not have to be fully functional, a team of 25 volunteers works all Winter long to repair and restore bikes to roadworthy condition for the Spring.
