A protege of legendary songwriters Townes Van Zandt and Guy Clark, Steve Earle quickly became a master storyteller in his own right, with his songs being recorded by Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Emmylou Harris, The Pretenders, and countless others. The 3-time Grammy Award Winner has published both a novel and collection of short stories; produced albums for other artists such as Joan Baez and Lucinda Williams, and acted in films, television and on the stage.
The Nashville Songwriters Hall of Famer will perform songs he's written for other legends, as well as his own from his 40 year career, like "Copperhead Road", "Guitar Town", "The Galway Girl", and "The Devil's Right Hand".
Tickets start at $78.75 + s/c and are on-sale now through Ticketmaster.
Metallica's M72 World Tour comes to Commonwealth Stadium in 2024 for TWO SHOWS! Of course this isn't your usual tour...it's going to be a No Repeat Weekend...2 nights, 2 completely different sets, and 2 different opening acts - Pantera with MammothWVH on August 23rd and Five Finger Death Punch with Ice Nine Kills on August 25th! It's all in support of their 12th Studio Album, "72 Seasons", representing the first 18 years of our lives that form our true or false selves, out April 14, 2023.
In 1981, drummer Lars Ulrich put out a newspaper ad, and guitarist/singer James Hetfield answered it. They recruited housemate Ron McGovney on bass, Dave Mustaine on lead guitar, and took a friend's suggestion as their band name - Metallica. Their ascent was quick, and after recording their first demo bassist Cliff Burton replaced McGovney. On tour in Sweden in 1986, the band's tour bus flipped, killing Burton. Jason Newsted took over bass duties until 2000, and producer Bob Rock filled in until 2003 when Robert Trujillo completed the band.
Stratospheric, explosive, cacophonous worldwide success came in 1991 after the release of their self-titled "Black Album", selling over 16 million copies and garnering MTV, American Music and Grammy Awards. In 2009 they were inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame, and were the first band to play on all 7 continents in 2013 - the last being Antarctica! Hear hits like “For Whom The Bell Tolls”, "Master Of Puppets", “One”, “Enter Sandman”, “Nothing Else Matters”, "The Unforgiven", "Turn The Page", and more.
